the resinous scent of sap.

Marvelous! There's nothing better than a walk through a pine forest where it's cool and quiet except for the squirrels and the birds. I love it. A ten.

By the way, in my last comment I forgot to mention that you might find it interesting to read a poem about forests which I wrote. I can't remember if it's called Forests In Asturias or Asturian Forests, but I think that if you have a moment to read it you may notice that it contains a similar appreciation of the environment to your own.

You clearly have a marvellous gift for appreciating the beauty of nature, which can be just as wonderful as any film or opera but free of course. This poem puts the picture, sounds, sensations and scents of the forest simply and clearly across for anyone to enjoy. When you can have such fun as this I find it hard to think you're the same person who wrote a poem about feeling very depressed! Hopefully the latter was just a temporary mood and you can always return to nature for solace.

Beautiful imagery, you completely fulfilled all my senses as I walked through your forest, feeling like a kid again, growing up in a forest when younger. It brought back all the wonderful memories I have of childhood, looking up at the tops of the pines, squinting because the sun was in my eyes. Gathering sticks to play with my dolls imagining all sorts of uses for them. So totally relaxing, soothing my senses with your words. Thank you Colleen, a very descriptive poem of nature. Thank you for sharing. Thank you also for all the comments you have given on many of my poems. I appreciate that you read me and hope you will continue to do so. I will read yours as I am able to. I close my eyes and breathe deep. Taking in all of the peacefulness I liked it very much.

Right in the morning I was reading this poem, I was so amazed to walk through your poem as if truly I was deep inside the pine forest. It was so near the reality that I was totally stuck there. Very nice Colleen

Mother nature always interested for human being to see, experience, and enjoy in its correct mood and inspiration as a child. It is very interesting and I have myself experienced the details in the poem when visited the forest sites of extremely wonderful nature and animals, snakes and also the most beautiful birds.Nice poem.

There's your mirror. Millions of women have gone to the grave never seeing that reflection. Something about you scares me. If you realize anymore, you can never return. And I'm not sure any woman has made it that far for quite sometime. To me, this is the remedy for the glass ceiling notion, that once shattered, only tumbles down on those who haven't made it, doing far more harm than good. But this, I don't even think Jesus could grasp this. Only a woman. Our only hope.

This is simply a gorgeous poem with imagery carrying the poetic argument in the most immediate and vivid impact. The sensory details are so precisely expressed and they progress with such clarity I felt I was in a woods near an apartment I once lived in. I could only barely hear distant traffic, otherwise it was a placed removed from urban blight. And we need that removal if not by direct experience, by the indirect experience of a poem like yours. I'm adding this to my collection so I can periodically be refreshed by A FOREST WALK (I especially love the image A RUG OF BURNT ORANGE.)

A walk in the pine woods is always a thrilling experience inhaling the clean air resonant with the song of birds! Yes, to be in the lap of Mother Nature can fill us with so much of joy! A sweet write, soothing and joyous!

You write with such beautiful use of imagery, so much so that I saw how the pines created a floor on the forest, I saw the slanted rays of the sun, I saw the squirrels chase each other, I heard the hooting of the owls, I filled my lungs with the refreshing sweet air of the forest. Thank you for taking me away, if only for a few moments, those moments were precious. Instantly one of my all time favourites.
