A Fluttering Moment Poem by Anitha Vijayakumar

A Fluttering Moment

Rating: 5.0

You didn't say anything,
I didn't hear anything.
But the silence sang-
A melody that needed no words.

It was continuous, endless,
A thread of stillness pulling time taut.
And in a fleeting moment,
Everything shifted.

Was it color or colorless?
The hues of feelings undefined.
I didn't say anything,
You didn't hear anything.

Yet we both knew-
The unspoken truth,
The weight of what lingered
In that fragile breath of time.

It was just a moment.
It was the moment.
And after it,
The world felt hollow.

Echoes of something lost
Hung in the air,
As if the universe exhaled
And forgot to breathe again.

Now everything feels empty,
Like a canvas washed blank,
Awaiting a new story,
Haunted by the traces of what once was.
