This poem is in remembrance to my wonderful father: Jose Manuel Lopes Ribeiro. A true gentleman, a wonderful father, my best friend and the kindest person... I love you daddy and miss you so much! This poem reflects the pain one experiences in the demise of a loved one, the memories, taking you back to the time when they are most important - in my case, my childhood. The music reference is because he was a musician, played the drums and did vocals in a Latino band. He influenced me most in my life and I too still to this day play guitar and piano... every time thinking of him as for about two years after his death I could never perform again in front of a crowd. I actually never touched an instrument for a few years because it was just too painful... A person never knows what you had in a person completely until you lose them... Rest in peace daddy...
Applauding your reverance, dedication and love to your Dad and his memory. This is a heartfelt poem and only one a loving daughter could write. I look forward to reading more of your work. Kudos! Sincerely, Nancy
