A Fallen Branch From The Great Tree Of Life Poem by Christopher Cariad

A Fallen Branch From The Great Tree Of Life

You say you care
But do you really?
When the best you can do
Is not good enough.
All I want is to be accepted,
To be loved and respected.
I tried and tried
To earn your love,
But it was never enough.
Now I'm just silent here
Getting through life
Held by my rejection,
Never had the protection
As the tree branch falls
From the tree that's lived so long.
As I wave goodbye to the world
That never swayed for my face.
I lived my life, the best I could
As a fallen branch from this great tree of life
Destroyed by the thunder in the strife.
