A Dripping-Wet Spring Day Poem by Bryan Taplits

A Dripping-Wet Spring Day

The lights went out
And then came the deluge
On this fearful dusky day,
And the rains poured down
As though to insist
"You must let us have our say! "
The seeping skies cried
With lightning above
As if to prove the drear,
And cars drove fast
And people splashed
Among quivering lanes of tears.
"There is just one thing, "
I told myself,
"That makes this dingy day
"A soothing Vernal boon;
"It shall be just short weeks
"Before we can all sneak
a peek
"At the rich sweet and ample
"Summer blooms."
