Last night before sleep,
I doze off as a boy.
Now I wake up, a man.
Through my dreams I transformed.
These visions I remember,
Weirdly, without clarity;
Rainbow and bright colors,
Beauty twinkled before,
My eyes, then passed darkness;
Consumed my being, changed me.
I was lost in my ways,
I can't recognize me;
My face, melting away.
No longer the boy I was;
Nor the man I wanted to be.
I have become a monster;
Monster I have once feared.
A nightmare turned dream.
Then, I woke up, sweating;
Thankful for everything;
Even for the nightmares;
For without them, I am not;
The man I am today.
I am grateful to have,
The dream that is reality.
