A Dream Poem by Winter Moyer

A Dream

Rating: 5.0

A dream
So simple yet so astounding
A footnote in the encyclopedia of the mind
A hope
Of better things to come
A wisp of an idea not meant to last
A bitter note in a song that was never written

A letter sent to the wrong address
A curtain hiding reality from view
The lack of lucidity flowing around the mind's third eye
A glimpse
At what could be achieved
Or what could have been

A painting of hope
Or a painting of shame
The shame, the guilt, the regret
Of what you could have done

A dream
A piece of childlike wonder
That resides in us all
Waiting to be taken
