A Dog Named Cooper Poem by Cowboy Ron Williams

A Dog Named Cooper

Rating: 5.0

Sometimes I wish I had a dog.
I think that dogs are great,
but I'm too old to care for one;
for me it's much too late.

I can't be bothered scooping poop
off of my yard or lawn.
After a day or two of that,
my patience would be gone.

I've known some good dogs in my life;
they're just like family,
but I can't get attached again;
that life is not for me.

Yes, they are loyal, trusted friends;
I think that dogs are super,
and if I ever DID have one,
then I would name him Cooper.

Old friends, of any kind, they shine like diamonds... according to Guy Clark... no matter who or what they are. Some of my best friends have been dogs and horses.
