A great horse play narrative. The unfairness carries on and on and on people preferring their own to win.
if you'll lend us half-a-crown, I know three certain winners at the Park - Three certain cops as no one knows but me; And - thank you, Mister, come an' have a beer.. very fine poem. tony
The narrative is beautiful and stumbling block.....a well expressed story...
Interesting story but sad to note how poor animal was used in human ploy.
A poem that shows corruption never goes away it hides in dark corners for there is always someone ready to pay? .....well written.
A well crafted narration by Banjo Paterson............................

Enjoy Banjo's Australian tales! ! !
A story of a jockey narrated wonderfully.........thanks for sharing
a poem of nothing changes it still goes on today, people always fiddling by making racing pay? .........but that is only for those in the know? knowwhatameanharry as an example? ............well written Banjo
