It truly is a descriptive ode. Very descriptive. Ironic that an author of such descriptive talent would choose such a nondescript title. Might very well have chosen A Long Poem. Very melancholy piece; captures well the grey bleakness of the North Atlantic.

The rustic breast of ocean waves with all its cruelty - it's roar is almost heard through these magnificent philosophical lines, so deep into the heart, the ruins of fate, parting and longing with vision of devastated landscape.
