A Day With You Poem by Ben Littlechild

A Day With You

When I awake by your side
my fears face censure.
For your sleep in grace, your comfort quells.
Days stretch out, hours by your side skip by in a heartbeat,
never stopping to ponder or lag.
I see adventure in your face,
the mundane disguised as epic.
Never tiring of those hours in the sun.
In your eyes, I find my wonder
In your tears, I find my sorrow.
In your laugh, I find rapture.
To bed, you slumber, you drift away,
in that face on a pillow gently resting.
I know tomorrows excitement will return, and I will live again.
