A Day At Debt Recovery Court 1 Poem by Vinaya Joseph

A Day At Debt Recovery Court 1

In Debt Recovery Court, where troubles collide,
There's a buzz in the air, and some paperwork to hide.
Lawyers in suits, with their files held tight,
Ready to battle, from morning to night.

The judge takes their seat with a calm, knowing grin,
'We've seen it all here, now let's begin! '
The claimants all stand, with their debts to discuss,
While defendants shuffle, making quite a fuss.

The courtroom's a mix of smiles and sighs,
With some hoping for wins, and others, surprise.
But humor sneaks in as the hours roll along,
A chuckle here, a joke that feels wrong.

'Your Honor, ' one quips, 'This debt's so old,
I'm sure even history's forgotten this gold! '
The room erupts with a soft, muffled cheer,
As everyone pauses, relieved of the fear.

Yet, amidst all the banter and paperwork woes,
There's justice and fairness—everyone knows.
At Debt Recovery Court, it's more than just sums,
It's a lesson in life, no matter who comes.
