A very unusual, deep and highly philosophical, poem. How stars, light, death turn in the universe, burn out as the crocodile of time in his starry banquet delights! Excellent poem, to be read more than even twice.
The crocodile as a metaphor for eating time intrigued me in the story of Peter Pan and Never Never Land, thinking about that metaphor recently spaced me out : )
Terence, I see that you haven't lost artistic touch. Not only is this poem so very well written, but the metaphor and imagery are out of this world. Thoroughly enjoyed it, poet friend. Welcome back! Long time no see!
Thank you for the comment and welcome back Richard. There was a technical problem in October 2021 and I could not comment on poems, so I left until it was resolved. Seemed rude not to be able to thank poets for beautiful comments made.
I wrote the poem 'No Comment Allowed: An Absence Explained', inspired by an explanation for absence, made as a reply to a comment by the poet Richard Wlodarski, on my poem 'A Crocodile In Space Eats Stars'. Poem dedicated to Richard Wlodarski.
