More grass was available, Beyond this limited circle, But the rope in motion Laid the line of its action. I do agree with you. Very few cross the circle.

Aha, the poet here gives voice and an unusually known quality to an animal of another breed. Fine poetry really. This is brilliant.

An opportunity comes once In one’s life, by chance. If it’s missed by an error, Then, it’s lost forever.........................ONLY ONCE! ! ! ? HAVE i 'missed the boat'? ? i thought that each of my three divorces was a 'breaking out' of a stale bondage'. BUT i had to feel sorry for each wife who gave/took a divorce from me; of course they all regret their LOST OPPORTUNITY for a lifetime of marital bliss! i've been 'testing' my fourth wife for almost ten years now. actually, my life has been somewhat lived in a stale circle, but i don't mind 'stale' too much. if one does not strive for greatness, one can not be faulted for not achieving it! ! ! you may quote me, young man. i read your PH bio after i read a comment you sent me on my poem: I Wish I Had Been Born A Bird...[personal; Birds; Humor].............i plan to comment on your comment someday. and i plan to read some more of your poems...............someday. i hope to enjoy the ones in which the animals speak. bri :)

Really a wonderful theme written in simple verses. I really like your simple, narrative style. It doesn't offer any obscurity but matches an elegant flow. Thanks.

Hi, I liked your poem and its true that we are all bound by the invisible ropes...but I have a question, what if somebody did move out of the circle, and did something but people around shunned because you dared to move out?

I liked this Raj, indeed we need break free from constraints (unnecessary ones anyway) . I thought perhaps this was written in tetrameter but I have little experience with rhyme, I seemed to flow nicely. -Bernie

Excellent development of a simple commonplace image of a cow tied to its peg into life's complexities. Only a master in his craft can express such profound ideas in such a simple way.

Oh what a wise and clever poem to start the new year with... 'How many have the courage, Or, more strength at any age, To break this stale bondage That shackles at every stage? ' Why are we staying inside the circle? Thank you for reminding us....how precious we are Pia
