One of the earliest and prettyest signs of
spring, are the Croccas flowers sprouting.
Sometimes they appear like a solitary star
shinning in the night air.
Other times they are clustered together in
amazing formations.
Either direction it sets an example in breaking
thru winter's hard ground to help us welcome
spring with beauty and joy.
Like softly fallen snow, it pushes past fears
of an unusually late deep frost that could
deeply damage this delicate plant.
And it lasts long enough to inspire, encourage
And make an example for it's searching humans.
