An factual depiction of a common man's life insightfully penned in persuasive expressions with conviction. A work of an intricate mind. Thanks for sharing and do remain enriched.
Knowing at timeshe'llmake mistakes For after all, he is just a common man. Nicely crafted. I will give full mark 10++++ Thanks
Nicely written poem with gentle emotion behind it. Many people, especially husband's, work day in and day out, year in and year out, without complaining. I think we sometimes take them for granted. At the same time, you suggest that it seems somehow not right - a horse's life is perhaps better. Yes, I don't think this kind of endless toil is what we were meant to use our lives doing.
Comparing with a horse was tongue in cheek, not taken literally. But, we do need to relax in life so we can enjoy all of our hard work. Thank you for your thoughtful comment.
Excellent poem Marilyn, sharing the reality so many of the working men can relate to. Love it.....
a good poem about the common man. we all know so well. a good tribute
It certainly comes across as a master's work. A terriffic tribute to the battering a common man takes all his life without complaining. Incredible and outstanding.
I wish I could kiss the hand that wrote this master piece...this is lovely, peaceful and stimulating...the hunt fo rthe bread, a quest for a quality life, dreams, worries of getting old and passing throguh...you made me travel a lifetime in this...this is one of the best poems I have read...goes in my favorites.... lemme atleast don a hat to this by giving a tenner.
Oh my goodness, so many years since you wrote this but now I can comment. Thank you so very much, I truly appreciate your kind words.
Marilyn, I am feeling the love in this salute...you seem to know him so well...Oh, he is blessed. Dorothy A Poet Who Loves To Sing
Thank you very much for you sweet comment. My father was this kind of man. I will always miss him but now that I am almost 75, perhaps before long I shall see him again.
But he’s strong and yes, he’s constant For he knows how to take a stand Rachel Ann Butler

Poetry comes effortlessly to you depicting peace and constancy of the life of a common man vis-a-vis the life full of viles and intrigues with the rich. Its rhyme, rhythm and music made my day. Thanks for sharing it. Regards, CP
