A Collection of Five Limericks** For Belle Wassermeister, Mystery Woman

[[ ** { Bri's Notes: I feel that the definition of 'limerick' is variable.
In other words ..((aka i.e. **, aka 'that is',)) ..a poet has some
leeway in the structure of meter, and other characteristics of a
poem e.g. aka 'for example' the rhyming, or lack thereof, used
in a poem's lines. I say:
'why bother even putting poems into categories? ? '
OK, I know 'why', ...but still.........................! ! ! }

NOW: YOU, the Reader, can say: 'What the H++l is Bri chattering
about! ? ? ' ]]

Right? Now the 'collection':

1
Online Identities

Do you believe names and 'Pics' online?
It's your choice; believe or not, but please don't whine
.......if Friday a poet's 'Jill',
and Sunday 'Jill' is 'Bill'.
Is your name faked here.....as is mine?

2
I, Bri Edwards

Bri Edwards is my chosen psuedonym.
As you might guess, I'm not 'her'; I'm 'him'.
Bri, pronounced like 'cry', please,
not like 'we', or 'Brie', a cheese.
I don't change my name here on a whim. ***

** psuedonym [ also known as 'pen name' or 'nom de plume' ]

'a fictitious name, especially one used by an author'

*** whim
'a sudden desire or change of mind, especially
one that is unusual or unexplained'

3
Swing Fling **

Belle come fly with me on my swing.
But don't tell your mate 'bout our fling,
or 'hubby' *** may get 'ugly'. ***
Hell, he might 'haul off' and slug yee!
And, to you, a divorce, he might bring! !

**
fling
'In slang, the term 'fling' refers to a short-term sexual relationship
or casual love affair between two people'

***
by 'hubby' I mean husband and by 'ugly' I mean UPSET, perhaps
even verbally and/or physically abusive

More Definitions:

'haul off':
An intransitive verb that means to prepare to perform a sudden and violent action

'slug':
one slang definition: a heavy blow especially with the fist

'yee':
ˈyē:
you, sense 1. used originally only as a plural pronoun of the second person in the subjective case and now used especially in ecclesiastical or literary language and in various English dialects

4
Standing On The Corner

I stand, watching Belle's poems go by.
Some may even rival poems by Bri.
I know it's hard to believe,
and too much to conceive.
Some are short, funny, and perhaps wry **.

**
wry:
adjective
1.
using or expressing dry, especially mocking, humor.

5
Low-cut Gown

I dream of Belle in a low-cut gown,
like a sex goddess, never like a clown,
'low-cut' meaning to-her-knees,
'the look' **, to me, sure to please.
Even some women smile, not frown.

**
'the look':
the way something looks (in this case a woman's appearance
while wearing a 'low-cut', revealing dress/gown)

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This is one of a COLLECTION OF SHORT POEMS I've written for individual PH members whose poems and messages I've enjoyed over the years. I'm not including (yet) poems by deceased/dead poets, but one collection I've yet to submit is for Valsa George, whose poems remain though she is no longer submitting works/poems to PH; she is on another poetry site I have heard.
COMMENTS OF THE POEM

Also, I checked my list of poems submitted to PH, by 'Date Submitted', and even after Asim commented I have failed to find the poem on my list. VERY strange! ! ! ; ( bri
