A profound poem with spiritual base. The rich in rhyme and rhythm life song is superb.

Never to pass the Angel With a glance and a Bow Till I am firm in Heaven Is my intention now.

Very beautifully stated in a short but moving poem.

It is cool how she is playing science and mystery off each other in the same poem. She sees a cloud in the sky- something we all do- and the next thing I know she is talking auxiliaries and how she regrets not sealing all these things she sees in an Hermetic Memory”. Have to love the poetry of an adventurous mind.

My first time reading this one by Emily as best I can remember. But what strikes me as characteristic of her are her unexpected or original use of words as in Auxiliaries and Hermetic and how she packs so much into so few lines. There’s a lot of similarity to this poem of hers and my Heart Song which begins, The sun is lacking. -GK

Yes there are glories which are superior to that of a cloud, but even a cloud (deemed to be an angel) could have been recalled by her, had she fixed it firmer in her Hermetic memory, now she resolves never to pass such clouds with merely a glance and a bow until she is firmly in heaven herself..........outstanding piece.......thanks for sharing

I have loved Emily's poems for many reasons. To me this poem speaks of not love or religion but the awareness of mind when she was not able to retain the beauty of a moment as it was presented to her and regretted for not being vigilant.
