A Choice Poem by Alex Lane

A Choice

The heart divides to reconcile itself
Where the soul stays whole
Our love calls for help
A choice to isolate or gather
To rejoice or to turn bitter
A birth becomes a death in reversal
As a life brings strife
This form eternal
No change incurred from the trading of time
The mind shall claim what it cannot decline
And Providence
Inside you shall find.
