Excellent Marilyn, I think it's time for a children's Kindle book perhaps, I would love to see that.....

Simple & innocent is the world of a small child where a bit of red dirt is enough to make him happy. Grown ups cannot compete. Lovely poem.

ankles red, so were the palms Mom's anger, after red dirt realms lets be that child again to play in the dirt and rain to forget everything else including us and enjoy the journey on childhood bus...

Perfectly enchanting. I grew up in Appalachia where imagination was more highly prized than toys.10, for your creative child. Warmest regards, Sandra

It is sad that as we grow older, we seem to lose our imagination. Maybe we adults should take time and play in the dirt again. Thanks for such a nice reminder of childhood.

Read you this morning, Marilyn, and thanks indeed for taking me back to my childhood and bringing all that into me again so that i can go out and roll in the grass and pick up, not red soil, but sandy soil, with my hair all filled with sand. Oh, ti's so wonderful to be a child all over; better still, be like a child all the time. thanks. Mark

Ms. Lott, this poem reminded me about being in the beautiful island of Kaui for a vacation. I have never seen anything like it in my life. The dirt was literally red and they get into everything and the children enjoy playing on it. A '10'

A good poem. To understand the dominant image, the red dirt, well enough needs effort.
