A Child Born Of God's Smile Poem by Long Tooth

A Child Born Of God's Smile

Are you a child born of God's smile,
Now grown, an adult in His love?
Not that you don't get burned, of course,
And yet His love is free of guile?

'Free Will, ' a gift of sovereign Lord,
Your purpose, "service, " freedom too,
A steward mindful of largess
Though His provision's much explored?

You stoop for others who've grown faint,
Are there for those who feel alone,
Are humbled when your blessings grow,
And trust that God knows you as Saint?

It's faith that makes the difference!
To know His gifts surrender pride,
The true God's love is there for all,
Approach His court with reverence.

Not one who lives has seen God's face,
But we exult in colors bared:
The fragrant rose; flashed thunder's roar!
Creation proof He shares our space!
