They say that the person you are with imbibes your habit, and you also imbibe his. Whenever he starts speaking about something, I finish it for him and that amazes him and gushes that I'm smart. I am that but also, very observant, the exact word is fixated on the pet that I want, not a derogatory term, but an implication of lifetime devotion and loyalty between two persons. In real life, owners of dogs/cats soon resemble their pets or vice-versa. The same attachment is at work here. I think they call it imprinting.
