A Carcass Poem by Yasmin Hemmat

A Carcass

Rating: 4.0

My soul is a tomb that mourns
A dark, rotting carcass
Where once a lovely flower bloomed
Now lies in stillness
Among the shadows, it decays
And yet, within this putrefaction
A soft perfume lingers on
Whispering of the beauty lost.

*Inspired by Baudelaire
