A Capricious Soliloquy Comments

Rating: 4.7

I have some inherent problems with love,
Contrary to the most natural human feeling,
I seem to be quite fine and okay, up and doing,
When love that I seek doesn't surface in my viewing.

Khairul, this is a wonderful poem, I can understand your feelings, when there is no love I am free to be myself, be independent, and soar in any direction I want to. Yet when love is part of my life, I am grounded, it clips my wings, I feel unable to depend on myself. Love takes my freedom of choice away, because I have to respect another and their wishes. Love in a way suffocates and makes one feel undeserving of it, because all these other thoughts come upon you, stifling creativity. A begrudging of sorts because love expects too much from you.

Well it didn't save the long comment so I'll just say that regardless of one's personal opinion on love they should be able to see the beauty of this piece. Very nice Khairul :)

Nice poem. When you are in love, you write poems through your body, mind and soul. But when you are not in love, you write poems through your pen. Ha ha ha. Enjoy both poems.

@ Sandra Feldman, I am deeply touched by your high praise of my poem. Poetry connects minds and hearts. I am so pleased to feel connected through my poetry, to many talented poets of this site, yourself included. 'Talent and noblesse oblige' is a wonderful expression you have used. I feel honored and obliged.

Wow, this poem is fantastic! I thoroughly enjoyed it. I share similar sentiments my friend! Unloved, I can soar in the sky and fly like a bird, I can sing, I can grin, I can write, I can imagine. Flow from the mountains like a natural stream, And sleep peacefully, can even catch a dream. I like to say... I'm dependent on being independent! Great write!

The thoughts and feelings expressed in this wonderful poem, only poetry can convey. That shows that poetry is the most enlightening and deepest form of expression because it touches the mind and the heart at the same time. You Dear Poet, have achieved just this in this outstanding work. However, you do have to accept the love of your admirative readers, Talent and noblesse oblige. SF

Beautiful poem. This poem itself speaks a lot....I am not sure whether your poem is speaking or you are speaking through poems now....Loved reading each lines and ending in a beautiful way.... Very true said... And so I am happy without love. Never give me a soft whisper, I may swerve. Never give me an affectionate look, It may unnerve Me and my psyche, as there is no love that I truly deserve.

A nice write up Khairul - being highly emotional. But I can feel how the river Falgu is flowing slowly inside avoiding everybody's vision or attention, underneath the dry and rough sandy bay. I can feel the grudge hidden in these lines........ Never give me an affectionate look, It may unnerve Me and my psyche, as there is no love that I truly deserve ......
