Really terrific sad and yet goes to show there are still some lovely people in this world.
i'm not sure what noreen, below, found sad here. ok, i suppose it was mr. fred dying? it IS a nice story, nicely-'poemicized'. fine rhyming. if it was a movie i might cry at the end, but not because the guy died. i surprise myself, not really, by crying [just a tear or two mind you! ] at movie scenes when something very touching is portrayed. i think my father may have done the same...........the only time i recall seeing tears in his eyes [a few only, mind you! ]. the evening after my mom died in a hospital with me and my sister at her side [[see my poem 100th Birthday [Missed By 'Mom']...... [SHORT; my mom; death; serious but NOT sad, if you care to]], i cried at the end of the movie Bicentennial Man. yeah, people died then, but it wasn't THAT which i cried (a tear or two) about. i never died cry because my mom died, or my dad. thanks for sharing, Monk E. Biz, formerly known as Luvinthe Now. this will go to MyPoemList! thanks for sharing. bri :) and thanks for the poet note. i think i unconsciously borrowed the poet note's phrase very touching in my comment. it fit perfectly.
