She was more
Than my eyes could take in
A beauty off the canvas
And sitting three rows from me
The train's sounds,
Hypnotic, soothing,
Cause my eyes to close...
We sit down to dinner
Tired from the day's work
Yet anxious to hear
How the day went for each other
Snuggling next to a fire
We share our dreams
As our bodies
Warm each other
Turning her face upward
I close my eyes
And give her a gentle kiss
My eyes open to the sound
Of loud hissing
I look three rows from me
And she is gone
Yet I am changed...
Forever
