A Brand New Year Poem by Randy McClave

I am going to awaken to a brand new year
With no sadness or worries or fear,
And I won't have or hold onto any hate or regret
Nor will I hold onto any debt.
Then when January 1st is finally the date
I will be starting it off with a brand new clean slate,
This New Year is going to be a new beginning
And I will be grinning.
Soon last year will past and will be gone
From it I will then finally move on,
Heartaches and sadness I will joyfully leave there
Now at tomorrow with a smile I will stare.
My past will then be in my rear view mirror
In future it will no longer be here,
Now all that I can truly say
I am excited to hear the shouting of, "Happy New Year's Day".
