great poem, so much emotion in one poem- well done :)
What a gift we have been given, how many turn away from it with out concern. A good poem and a reminder of what has been given us..
This boy can grow up and be anything he wants to be and live in a world of hope anywhere in the world. Keep writing and sharing your thoughts with us. A '10! ' Warm Wishes, Marilyn
And he will be worthy of his suffering no doubt. Fine write.
Very strong in its images and message. I had to read this several times before I could start saying anything about it. I missed the significance of this line the first few times, “There’s line circling it With no end.” (Might be better if you add an “a” so that it reads “There’s a line”.) This line circling conveys to me the idea that what happens here in some way effects many others, in fact probably, everybody else. I am inclined to be thinking of this boy as not just applying to you as an individual but as having a religious significance; more specifically, the Christ. Your title immediately projects the Christmas Scene. Well written, very vivid images and thought provoking and stirs up feelings.
I do appreciate your feeling regarding the birth of a boy, but... A nice poem.
