Eye sockets mere bruises
Alike to closed fists
Save whole being tangled
In his last rags
All else dissolved-
A vase dripping away
Holding time's finger
Rattling his soul
As a broken alms bowl,
Unable to knock open
A deaf world's door
To go out of this life-
Conscious how immense
Is oneself without walls.
A tremendous attempt to redefine blindness, that too with so humane an approach.
We all have come across beggars with their wretched and miserable condition but the way you have portrayed it makes their equation with the world regrettable on the part of the latter. Thanks. Unable to knock open / A deaf world's door Conscious how immense / Is oneself without walls.
To go out of this life- Conscious how immense Is oneself without walls. A surprising sentence that makes sense. Thanks!
As of ever the portrait is quite disturbing but calls for a concern across the seas and lands.. I really appreciate you for your choice of subjects and as poet with great concern for the world around you, Mr Yoonoos, you are superb.. Thanks for pointing out the mis spelt word in one of my poems..
Brilliant poem, not only must we help the poor, homeless and unwanted, we must aim to eradicate poverty and homelessness. A brilliant poem, thank you.
All else dissolves but the basic need to feed oneself.....The bitter truth of hunger and poverty rattles our souls.a very poignant poem.
a touching and thoughtful work, in every city there are beggars and the world is deaf to their cries. Thank you for remembering those lost.
