A Bitter Truth: Poem by Nazima Akhter

A Bitter Truth:

Rating: 5.0

Attachments just happen
Just by someone casually writing a birthday wish message
Just by someone casually asking about well-being
Things start happening every day
Personal matters start being shared
Start worrying about every little thing

After a few days, the interest starts to subside to ask if you are okay or not
As time goes on people start leaving
Things become less
And then one day they disappear from the chat list

Do you know what is the issue?
We get to know each other a lot in a short time
His every hobby, sleep wake-up routine, joys, and sorrows of life, each and everything

Do you know what we should do?
When someone gives a hand, we should hold the finger, do not hold the full arm
No matter how many times someone tells us, we can become very good friends
We should end things by saying Thank you
Things should not be taken to heart

People are not interested in you, they are just interested in finding you
He only becomes interested in you until he knows you completely
So don't be under any illusion
You remain a secret as long as you can
As long as the secret remains, you remain valuable
When people know you completely they reduce your value
They stopped respecting you
They went in search of something new

This is a bitter truth which we cannot accept
And by the time we accept this truth, we have already given up a lot.

You have proved yet again that you are a keen observer of human nature and behaviour as you are a very talented poet. I don't remember, who said "Familiarity breeds contempt "… but that is the truth…Top Score, dear poet
