Let us who want to express our thoughts, feelings and imaginings in English, ponder this. Why attempt to write poetry if prose is both adequate and more compact. What is modern in what we write? This poem does not seem to be complete. Perhaps we are all pretenders, like that don you have sketched in your satire. Maybe it will be a good subject for a short story.
