The heartbeat of the city! ! Thanks for sharing this poem with us.
Another beautiful poem on lost love, last stanza is so inspiring and ignites hope to meet and live together again.. He wanders the familiar streets with his burning passion, That lights his sad eyes like receiving an unexpected surprise, His true love lives in his songs that play in his thoughts every day, He will join her soon in the kingdom of God, To live their life a better way.
Dublin, O'Conner street, the Trinity college. Mahatma Gandhi studied there and got his inspirations as a young man from Dublin. the pubs there, the songs, the bands, the majesty of the street, ..all these came up in my mind as i read these poems. The struggle for independence.... and you write about these Streets and about a man of passion who sang, danced on these streets and his pain and suffering and how he waits to go to heaven to meet with his lady love, his lady of the heart. thank you dear Poetess.
The story of this man whose heart burned for his homeland and who left all lucrative jobs to stick to his roots, lived in poverty and lost his wife. But he clings tenaciously to his heart's passion..... singing and wanders along the streets with nothing in view other than joining his wife in Death's kingdom where he awaits a better life! Beautiful poem Hazel!
