A Beautiful Illusion Poem by Aakash Nengroo

A Beautiful Illusion

Her breath injected life in me...
Her gaze made me look down
Her gait was that of the rare crane...
She wore a beautiful olive crown...

The eyes seemed so deep..
I was afraid to take the leap...
Her soul was so sympathic...
I had no secret to keep...

She wore the turquoise dress
The hair falling down to her waist...
Nervousness gripped me tight...
I didnt want to ruin the dream in haste...

She took a step and came closer...
Her fresh breath hitting my face
My body started trembling...
My heart increased the pace...

She took my face in her hands...
Like a mother touching her newborn..
I was bestowed with esctasy...
All the pain vanished..every scar was gone..

I remained still as a stone
To capture the beauty of her her eyes...
Little did i know i held her hand...
Unaware of the magnitude of its price...

As soon as i touched her...
She vanished like the smoke...
I was again left with pain...
My heart again broke...
