This stuffed toy was highly animated by your words. There were moments when B seemed almost like a living animal, a credit to your words in making him come alive for us the way he always had for your daughter and the family. The toy takes on symbolic dimensions as he accompanies her growing from a child through adolescence to young adulthood. Her relationship with B reminds me of what one of my students once said, Everything that is loved is alive.

A wonderful poem except for the words tremendous and sweet and the expression the US of A none of which appear to fit in terms of rhythm or line length. For that reason I have given it a nine. Sorry if this sounds arrogant but I'm in an over-sincere mood today.

i've read some of the poem comments (and your note) and am now ready for the poem. And for every day when you were sad It was he who dried your tears ...............i can picture B wiping away the tears, figuratively and literally. cool. well, basically, i liked it quite a bit. nice rhyming and story. thanks for sharing. :) bri

while reading the poem the first thought I had is whether such a thing happened actually. Then completing the recitation and in the end script I understood that this is a real thing happened and I felt it so good and the poem is also very beautiful.

In many ways, I cannot comment on this. But I will say, I am glad that this ends my journey through your works. I guess, as simple as I could put it,12 years ago (I never remembered date, jus the day) , Memorial Day, I received a little bear in place of a daughter. She was Cala Autum Caffery, the bear was never named. Thank you. I feel my daughter knows you somehow. Wow, this was a mind boggling experience. I don't know you, but for what it's worth: you are the truth; not the reflection. Thank you. I'm emotionally drained & spiritually renewed. You're a wonderful mother.

Good morning Colleen. These are the things life is made of, well done! By the way, I posted a rather long poem this morning and when you have time, would love your review and comments. Let me know when I can return the favor. The title is Sixty-five White Daisies and Ten. Thanks, Loyd

Colleen, this was just awesome. My son had a favorite stuffed animal as well. Believe he is still in a box in our garage...my son married leaving him behind.

For, on a table drawn beside his head, He had put, within his reach, A box of counters and a red-vein'd stone, A piece of glass abraded by the beach, And six or seven shells, A bottle with bluebells, And two French copper coins, ranged there with careful art, To comfort his sad heart. It's amazing what a stuffed animal can mean to a child. About 10 days ago my 6-year-old grandson came to spend the night with me. He had trouble going to sleep. Then he started thinking about his stuffed dog Cuddles and how much he missed him. He had forgotten to bring him with him. He cried for about 30 minutes and then I asked him if milk and cookies would make him feel better and help him go to sleep. Thank goodness that worked! Thanks for sharing this sentimental poem. Very well written!
