Stephanie you have captured the great question - does the end justify the means if you are defending your life, your family, the one you love? As an ex soldier I have had to examine in REAL detail (I mean internally and without flinching from the blood and guts) what I would do to defend my A) Country B) Family C) Friends D) Strangers the answer is surprisingly consistent - Whatever it takes. I'm not sure what that makes me? Some people I know would never take life. I would. Some would never use physical violence. I have, many times, sometimes extreme. I think this gives me a perspective denied to others. Just a perspective, not a moral standpoint. You have made me examine my inner beliefs tonight and for that, thank you. Strong and vicious! It is true that virtue is something hard to keep in such times.

Virtuousness has somehow become a sign of weakness these days! Very powerfull wording - great poem.
