**a Ballad Of One-Sided Love**

Rating: 5.0

In a quiet glen where the shadows lay,
She loved him true, in her heart's array.
With whispered dreams and tender sighs,
But he wore a mask, weaving clever lies.

Her laughter danced like a brook's clear flow,
Yet each smile he forged was a hidden woe.
For she gave her all to his every call
While he turned away as night began to fall.

"Come close, " she said with eyes like stars' gleam,
"I'll weave you into my sweetest dream."
But he turned his gaze to the distant sky blue,
Unknowing the heart that was breaking in two.

With letters penned on soft petals' grace,
She bared her soul in that secret place.
Yet each word fell silent against stone cold air;
He danced with another who didn't care.

Seasons would shift from summer to frost;
She clutched at hope for the love she had lost.
Each tear held promise of something more bright;
But shattered reflections grew dimmer than night.

As shadows thinned ‘neath the coming dawn's glow,
She gathered her courage for healing to grow.
No longer bound by chains unseen tight;
A heart freed from sorrow took flight on its plight.
In time she'd learned that love wasn't theft
That anger beclouded what kindness had left:
So she bid farewell a bittersweet song
The road ahead promised she'd finally belong.

Now flowers bloom where their shades used to play;
And sunlight creeps softly across yesterday.
Though once may have faltered in trust's gentle fold,
A stronger spirit emerges
brave and bold.

For there is no strength greater than letting go right

To dance under stars without fear through the night!
Though one-sided love can draw tears ever near,
It births new beginnings
with horizons so clear.
