At church I jumped up and down for joy
I wasn't going to be secretive or coy,
My reaction was after what Pastor Pete had announced
So, up and down in excitement I bounced.
I gave a pronounced. "Amen! " to what he had said
From my thoughts he had removed some dread,
I believed everyone in church had heard me shout
As they too felt the joy and excitement floating about.
God indeed had answered another prayer
In my excitement Ed, Richard, John and Peggy at me did stare,
I could not help it, but I continued my smiling
Joy upon my very soul and body kept on piling.
And then when we all began to pray
I again thanked God for the great news on that Sunday,
After church I wanted to scream the news out to the world
As though as an excited child in circles I twirled.
I began telling my friends and my family of the great news
It had erased some of my sadness and blues,
I then told them all excitedly what Pastor Pete had spoken
Which my very soul it stoked and had awoken.
I will always remember the words that Pastor Pete had spoke
Upon my mind and my soul it is now forever wrote,
Sunday school now will be starting at ten
So, now I have an half an hour more to just sleep in.
