“Scared for life? Is this really true, will you let the perpetrators have the best of you. …” at first I thought you meant “scarred”, but then I read more. it could be scarred OR scared; perhaps both! “You’ve been hurt, beaten, raped, taken advantage of. Scared for life? Is this really true, will you let the perpetrators have the best of you. I think not, you must not seek revenge, for then you will be allowing them to have you over and over again.” in the above lines, starting at “…you must not…”, it seems you have moved from one good piece of advice to another, but if that is true, perhaps two stanzas could be used. And, although: ‘revenge may (to some people) be the Lord’s’, would you consider it revenge if the victim reported the crimes, pressed charges, and tried to get a conviction? ? if so, I think more crimes will be allowed/ promoted, which, TO ME is a crime! ! ! bri :)

Good Lord Melvina, I hope and pray that you are right in this excellent piece you've written....People violate us, rip our guts out taking what is ours and we are left to pick up the pieces. It makes it difficult to believe, especially when what is rightfully yours, and others as well, is beaten down, one by two by three to the hundreds....trying to hold on of what's left of what's been taken from me....what was my very heart and soul.
