Bless Ya Melvina, and thank you for reading my work. I agree this is traumatic, I cant imagine this in years to come, its heartbreaking. Hang onto the good times, thats all I can say. All the best.
Melvina, I agree with Diane that the last words of this poem make you shudder and pray that your closest never suffer from the dreaded disease. Beautiful heart rendering piece. Thank you for sharing it. David
So true in your last words, together my wife and I have a history. Those struck with this dreaded disease have their lucid moments, those moments that we live for, if only fleeting. Wonderful, wonderful write Melvina. All the best, Diane
absolutly a story of sadden beauty.......a very delicate subject matter..... placed in the beauty of your words......well said
So sad Melvina the mysterious death comes in different names and there is no remedy for goodbyes.
Melvina...again you give the impression of personal involvement. Only last night watched show on TV where families of sufferers throw a party, trying to time it to catch last vestiges of lucidity before that long sinking into nowhere we can follow. The subject needs to be broadcast more widely. Well done...B
my grandmother and grandfather suffered from Alzheimer's...it was but for a few years though, then they passed. touching piece Melvina with unusual perspective. nice work.
PERHAPS THE ONLY DISEASE WORSE THAN WATCHING A LOVED ONE WANE FROM CANCER...MY DAD, WHO IS ALSO I AM PROUDTO SAY, MY LIFELONG HERO, IS 84, & HAS HAD ALZ. FOR 3 YEARS NOW, , , IT IS STILL BEING TERMED AS MILD, BUT THE CHANGES ARE SO ACUTE TO ME AS I KNOW HOW EVER SHARP HE WAS FOR 80+ YEARS....YOUR STORY IS SO SADLY ELOQUENT, M.G. & I CAN ONLY HOPE THAT IT'S CONTENT IS NOT FAMILY-BIO...'''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''{F j R}
Choked up am I. Touching and tear-inducing with a great moral ending. BRAVO - A 10 rating!
This one hits home Melvina.....my father is now progressing threw his Alzheimers. I keep telling my mom you must laugh at all his moments because if you don't....you won't. I f you would like to read my lighter side of our situation...please read 'Barefoot I Walk With My Alligator Shoes' my poem dedicated to my father with Alzheimers
