Theme: Golden India (‘Legacy and Development')
The world's most populous democracy stands
A glowing example unto the earth,
For unity and patriotism,
And peaceful co-existence, love of mankind.

Well-known for diversity, our nation,
And citizens hold heads high with great pride -
A leader in so many spheres of life,
Ever-ready to stop wars all the time!

We're proud of our culture and heritage,
Defence forces and freedom fighters all,
And famous leaders, so exemplary,
Tricolour, languages and accomplishments.

This day reminds us of great men, women,
Who sacrificed their lives to get freedom,
And scientists, teachers, farmers, those who toil,
To make a digital India with love!

Our rockets land on Moon and head for Mars;
Our spaceships make their way to study Sun;
Our doctors use robots, hi-fi gadgets;
Our farmers respect our so sacred soil!

Our sacred land of mountains, rivers, soil,
Has wealth immense that foes' eyes much envy,
As India leads in Space technology,
And makes forays while leaving most behind.

Our hearts and minds are proud of Indianness!
We want to improve health, fight poverty;
Our country's borders must be kept unchanged,
While literacy and finance grow, so fast.

Our motherland is sacred to the core;
Our forefathers spilt blood and gave their lives;
Our successors are healthier, brave and bold;
Our nation has made giant steps and strides!

Our land has temples, churches, mosques galore;
Our land has flora, fauna, of all kinds;
Our land is rich in people who show great love;
Our land has shelter to those shelterless.

India can feed its billions and world's starved!
India can usher peace and stop all wars;
The key is dialogue and love of life;
The youth of India is all fighting fit!

Our goal is to achieve self-reliance;
‘Make in India' is helping us to a lot;
The poor and needy need a lifting force;
Most Indian minds can pull off miracles.

The tableaux show the country's might and power;
The defence wings show off their gadgets new;
The culture of each state is displayed too;
Alertness, discipline are important.

No more are Indians slaves of any kind;
No more can India be patient with foes;
No more is India under-developed;
No more can Indians bear gross unfairness.

Indians are found all over the globe;
Indians are ready to learn and to slog;
Indians love peace, not wars and heinous crimes;
Indians want heaven upon earth, not hell!
