767. Punthali Poem by Jaden Knight

767. Punthali

Punthali had been in the family for years
and had been well looked after
now she sits alone on the self
shedding tears that nobody sees

Her dress needs re-stitching in places
her straw hat has long been lost
both of her shoes are falling apart
neglected by her current owner

It has been so long since she was hugged
or even played with in any way
abandoned and near enough forgotten
and no one gives her a second glance anymore

On the other side of the room the PC screen glows
ensnaring the mind of the human child staring at it
Punthali can't compete with all the lies that it tells
she can only offer her love and so is left to rot
a sad ending for a once beautiful doll

would you believe i shed tears reading this one? ? ? you'd be WRONG. but i LIKE the poem. dolls can be appreciated even if never played with again, BUT i see what you are getting at. maybe Punthali would be in shreds completely if the PC hadn't come along! to MyPoemList.
