May your innocence be your shield
covering the armour of your youth
shining brightly in the sun light of your life
and glowing faintly under the moon

May it protect you from the darkness
that will seek to pierce your heart
looking to corrupt your mind and body
changing you for the worse

May it deflect the hurt sent by others
sending it harmlessly away
leaving not a mark on the surface
while you continue to smile

The armour of your youth may rust as you age
but you still have your faithful barrier
until the time you no longer need it and pass it on
may your innocence be your shield
