731. My Lifeboat On The Sea Of Existence Poem by Jaden Knight

731. My Lifeboat On The Sea Of Existence

I felt I had to abandon ship
cast adrift in a lifeboat on the sea of existence
the main vessel sank many hours ago
going down by the head in flames

There appears to be no wind on this accused ocean
the sail hangs limp from the mast
I can't use the oars as they went overboard
and are slowly drifting away out of sight

I have no navigational instruments or map
there is no course for me to follow
waiting in vain under the cruel unforgiving sun
waiting for the blessing of healing rain

Eventually this boat will fail and sink
probably before dry land could ever be reached
my body will be claimed by the waves of the sea
as it falls forgotten down to the dark depths
