7/10 Southern Sky Poem by Dean Meredith

7/10 Southern Sky

And behind the bravado
She wanted love
But it needed to be real

Her eyes rolled
As if hearing another cliché
Quite over that

Cards at face value
Discounted nuance
Filling those voids

I could tell
She was in a mood
So I just listened

Let her know
In my own crazy way
I was still on side

Sleep would come
Eventually & then
A new day
