Rays of light from the full moon shine through the trees
the black unicorn hides in the shadows
cursed and unloved by all for straying off the path
even its own mother wouldn't recognise it now
Blood drips from its broken silver horn and hooves
its yellow eyes shed rivers of tears
almost as if it wants to wash the blood away
to prevent it from staining its midnight skin
It was pure white when it was born
innocent and with joy in its heart
but now it is punished for falling so far
and all it can feel is pain
It seeks a way to end its torment
either by the arrows of men or elves
even though death will not save it from its fate
only the promise of darkness awaits
