704. The Battle Of Caddock Poem by Jaden Knight

704. The Battle Of Caddock

The battle in Caddock harbour had lasted for several days
with neither side wanting to retreat or give in
the caravels of Lord Carabus repelling the continuous attacks
of Prince Dracul's dragon horned ships

Many of the decks were blazing with magical flames
clouds of thick smoke rising to blanket the sky
blocking out the sun and moon
the burning deck providing most of the light
as fireballs rain down from above

Sails hung ragged and useless from their masts
the wind would not save them from their fate
the ships too close to each other to use the oars
as the hulls started to split and break apart
sending their sailors down to the depths

No side could be considered to be the victor
as both side had suffered huge losses
Prince Dracul escaped under the cover of darkness
with just a single ship remaining of his huge force
never to threaten Caddock harbour again
