635. Poem by Jaden Knight

635.

You tell me that you love me truly
despite all the pain that we've been through
some of our shared memories are still bleeding
the blood streaming like falling tears

the scars of the fights you started will never heal
but dot the landscape of our minds
a reminder of skirmishes past
you were always willing to start the war
and I was often the willing fighter

I may have won most of the battles
but both of us could be classed as losers
counted as mere collateral damage
your selfish choices proved to be the true enemy
one that could be defeated easily

You tell me that you loved me truly
despite all the pain that we've been through
although some of our shared memories are still bleeding
the blood will eventually dry up to be used as fertiliser
to grow new and better experiences
as the old ones slowly fade away
