621. Poem by Jaden Knight

621.

Even as he turned and walked away
the chill started to set in
you shivered on your doorstep
as the early morning mist consumed him

Within minutes your insides were shivering
and you sought to put on a warmer jumper
wrapping yourself up in thick winter gear
hoping to dispel the cold

It wasn't long before the ice started building up
despite the fact that you were sweating by a fire
a glacier was swiftly forming
and there was nothing you could do to stop it

Your problem can't be fixed with clothes
extra layers will not melt this winter
only with love can you seek to end the permafrost
until then your heart remain frozen
and all you can feel is the cold
