600. Poem by Jaden Knight

She has had a long a happy life
now it is time for her to die
even her owners can see that she is not well
and the end is surely near

Her golden coat no longer shines as it did
her eyes are getting dim
spends most of her time resting
the cancer has taken a firm hold
with no chance of recovery

She is taken to the vets to end her pain
she knows it is the end
she looks into her owner's eyes with love and thanks
as she is given the lethal injection
and her life slowly drains away

Now her chains are broken
and she is free at l1ast from her pain
with love she was brought into the world
and it was love that set her free
