549. Your Switchblade Eyes Poem by Jaden Knight

549. Your Switchblade Eyes

You viciously cut me open with your switchblade eyes
I didn't say a word of complaint
nor did I attempt to stop you
as all was displayed for you to see

Nothing was hidden from your sight
as you continued to push and probe
choosing to remain silent as you searched
not commenting on what you uncovered

Eventually you found something that frightened you
and so you withdrew and ran away
not bothering to give an explanation
leaving me to cover up what you had exposed

I still recall that day with puzzlement
as I have not had a chance to discover
what it was that terrified you so much
when you cut me open with your switchblade eyes

She may have seen your pulsing, yearning heart, and felt she was not worthy of it. i hope your scar is not too gross! VERY NICE ONE, as i often find when i visit your poems. to MyPoemList. anything you would like in April's showcase, my friend? ? i'll give you a week or so to offer one before i steal one. all stanzas are great. this one might be a little more my favorite. hmm? Eventually you found something that frightened you and so you withdrew and ran away not bothering to give an explanation leaving me to cover up what you had exposed i like that both the first and last lines end with cut me open with your switchblade eyes bri :)
